HIGH TEMPERATURES: Risk of fire. Can cause injury or death. Internal core temperatures can reach 1200°F. Ensure core is NOT hot before removing galvanized front panel.

 De-energize System

De-energize the system and remove the front painted panel.

Remove Sensor

Remove the brick core sensor.

Disconnect Harnesses

Disconnect element wiring harnesses from elements. Carefully set the core sensor and the harnesses to the side to prevent damage.

NOTE: Inspect element lead wires. If damaged or show signs of overheating, these terminals MUST be replaced with a high temperature connector (Order item #1040470).

 Remove Galvanized Panel

Remove the galvanized front panel and set it aside.

Lift Blanket Insulation

Starting at the bottom, carefully lift each of the insulation blankets and drape them over the top of the system, using a barrier between layers of insulation will help prevent damage.

NOTE: Use face mask, gloves, and long-sleeved garments when handling insulation materials in compliance with generally accepted safety practices.

Remove Air Channel

Remove front air channel. Cover blower opening to avoid debris falling into core blowers.

Remove Elements

Remove defective elements. When elements fail, there can be loose debris that should be removed.

Insert New Elements

Insert new elements between brick layers, sliding them in until element ends embed into side cut outs of the brick cavity.

Install Front Air Channel

Re-install the front air channel with flanges on top and sides facing inward.

Position Blanket Insulation

Lower insulation blankets back in position, one at a time. Carefully tuck bottom edge in first, then sides of insulation into edges, corners, and around exposed portions of heating elements to ensure maximum efficiency.

Install Galvanized Cover

Re-install the galvanized front panel.

Install Brick Core Sensor

Re-install the brick core temperature sensor making sure to secure in place so it does not short against the painted front panel.

Connect Element Terminals

Reconnect element wiring harnesses. Element screws should be tight.

NOTE: Properly torque and verify connections are secure. Loose connections will fail.

Required clearance between element termination and metal panels is 1/2" (3/4” nominal).

Complete Check-Out

Re-install the painted front panel and complete the Installer’s Final Check-Out Procedure found in the Owner’s and Installer’s Manual to ensure proper operation.
