Element Harness Repair Kit

WARNING

HAZARDOUS VOLTAGE: Risk of electric shock. Can cause injury, or death. System may be connected to more than one branch circuit. Disconnect power to all circuits before servicing.

De-energize System

De-energize the heating system.

Locate Damage

Locate the damaged element harness wire and disconnect it from the element.

NOTE: If the damaged wire is a jumper wire, use enclosed wire as is. Otherwise, cut wire to length needed for repair.

Cut Harness

Cut the element harness wire below the damaged portion of the wire.

Strip Conductors

Strip the element harness wire and the wire supplied in the Element Harness Repair Kit. Both should be stripped back approximately 1”.

Install Heat Shrink Tube 

Slip one of the heat shrink tubes provided over each wire and slide out of the way.

Place Barrel Crimp

Place the wires through the barrel crimps as shown in Figure 1.

Crimp

Crimp the barrel crimps in place. (Figure 2.)

Apply Heat Shrink

Apply heat shrink as shown in Figures 3 & 4.
