Air Conditioner and Heat Pump Interface - 4200 Series

Owner's Manual: (EN) (FR)

WARNING

Risk of fire. Any one ducting system MUST NOT contain more than one air handling (blower) system.

When interfacing Serenity with a heat pump, the indoor coil MUST be placed in the return in a position that will provide even air flow across the coil. If using the optional Steffes return air plenum, the plenum is configured to be the housing for the coil. Reference the Ducting and Air Flow section installation information. If not using the optional return air plenum, the installer will need to make provisions in the return air plenum to accommodate the coil and the air filter.

When interfacing Serenity with an air conditioner, Steffes recommends the indoor coil be installed in the return air plenum for ease of service and installation.

In a heat pump or air conditioner installation, the condensate drain trap should be designed for the in which the system is operating. Typically, taller traps are better suited for these types of applications.

Refer to the Room Thermostat Connections diagrams for more information in interfacing Serenity with a heat pump or air conditioner.
