Can I charge the brick core of the Comfort Plus Hydronic system even though the plumbing is not completed and the system is not filled?
The answer to the question is yes; but, it is important not to initiate a heat call to the furnace without water in the system. If the heating system is operated in this condition, overheating of the exchanger will occur which will activate the manual reset limit control (see picture below). Any system that is heated without water or even with air in the water system may require resetting of the limit control before operation. External access to the reset button is located on the lower left side of the system near the outlet water pipe on the exchanger.
