Error 8 (E08) - 2000 Series

The E08 error code indicates an open outdoor temperature sensor or an incorrect DIP switch setting. E08 can also occur as a nuisance error. If the error clears after power is reset to the control circuit of the heater (powered off and back on at the breaker panel), perform a system check out.

If the E08 error code returns, determine if an outdoor sensor is hard-wired to the heater. The outdoor sensor would be connected to the two middle (OS) terminals on the 6-position terminal block on the back of the processor control board. If the outdoor sensor is installed, DIP switch #6 MUST be in the "ON" position. If there is no outdoor sensor hard-wired to the heater, then DIP switch #6 MUST be in the "OFF" position.

If the heater is configured correctly for the application and the E08 error code continues to occur, replace the processor control board.
