Part 6 Description - 5100 Series

75VA 24 Volt Transformer

The transformer provides 24 volts AC to the system for thermostatic controls. Power is provided to the transformer from the 15 amp circuit breaker. The 24 volt side of the transformer is then wired to "R" and "C" on the terminal block. The "C" wire is grounded.

To determine if 24VAC is present, read voltage across "R" and "C" on the terminal block.

NOTE: If no voltage is present between "R" and "C", press the reset breaker on the transformer. If tripped, check field wires connecting to the terminal block for a short to ground. If the internal circuit breaker on the transformer continues to trip, disconnect all low voltage field wiring, energize the system, and see if the transformer trips with the field wires disconnected.
