Transformer

The transformer provides 24 volts AC to the system for thermostatic controls. Power is provided to the transformer from the 15 amp circuit breaker. The 24 volt side of the transformer is then wired to "R" and "C" either on the 12-position terminal block or the Low Voltage Circuit Board. The "C" wire is grounded.

To determine if 24VAC is present, read voltage across "R" and "C" on the terminal block.

NOTE: If no voltage is present between "R" and "C", press the reset breaker on the transformer. If tripped, check the low voltage field wiring and heat pump/AC system for a short to ground. The breaker is rated at 4A. See pictures below.
