Blanket insulation panels MUST NOT be removed from the furnace under any circumstance. This material is NOT field replaceable. Caution should be taken during installation to ensure damage does not occur. These insulation blankets serve to keep the heat inside the brick core. If not sealed properly, hot air from the core will leak, creating unsafe skin temperatures and discoloring the painted panels of the furnace. Contact Steffes for more information.
Note: The blanket insulation used in Steffes ETS heaters is made from high-temperature fiberglass and contains no asbestos, refractory ceramic fibers (RCF), or binders. The material will irritate the skin, eyes, and airway due to mechanical irritation.
