Line voltage power is supplied to the charging circuits of the system through the 60 amp breakers. These 60 amp breakers are designed to protect the internal wiring and components of the heating appliance. Field wire and circuit breaker (fuse) size MUST be calculated based on the charging input of the system as printed on the system's Unit Identification Label.

The 60 amp breakers on the system must either all be turned on or all be turned off to ensure proper operation of the system. Therefore, if turning system off for the summer, Steffes recommends turning all of the 60 amp breakers to the "off" position and leaving the 15 amp breaker "on".

Phasing of line voltage wires is also important for proper operation of the system."
