THIS PROCEDURE MUST BE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN.
WARNING
HAZARDOUS VOLTAGE: Risk of electric shock. Can cause injury or death. System may be connected to more than one branch circuit. Disconnect power to all circuits before servicing. Equipment must be installed and serviced by a qualified technician.
NOTE: Have the customer turn off the 60 amp breakers prior to service call to ensure core is cool to safely perform the brick core sensor replacement.
De-energize Unit
De-energize the system.
Remove Covers
Remove the electrical panel cover and front painted panel. Locate the core sensor inside the electrical compartment. See Figure 2.

Disconnect Sensor Wires
Disconnect the sensor wires from the processor control board. See Figure 1.

Cut Silicone
Using a utility knife carefully cut the high temperature silicone sealant from between the thermocouple and the galvanized panel.
Disconnect Element Wires
Disconnect the element wires from the elements and carefully lay them to the sides.
Remove Galvanized Panel
Remove the galvanized front panel.
Lift Blankets
Starting at the bottom, carefully lift each of the insulation blankets and drape them over the top of the system.
NOTE: Use face mask, gloves, and long sleeved garments when handling insulation materials in compliance with generally accepted safety practices.
Remove Air Channel
Remove the front air channel.
Remove Elements
Remove the elements from the brick core.
Unload Bricks
Unload the bricks from the left side and center of the brick core until the sensor is completely exposed. Unloading the bricks will make it easier to remove the old sensor and install the new one.
Remove Sensor
Remove the old sensor and clean any remaining silicone off the galvanized panels.
Install Sensor
Install the new sensor. Using the silicone provided, seal between the sensor and the galvanized panel of the brick core.
Reload Bricks/Install Elements
Reload the bricks and install the elements.
Install Air Channel
Install the front air channel.
Secure Blanket Insulation
Carefully lower the insulation blankets into position, one at a time. Tuck the sides of the insulation into the edges, corners and around the exposed portions of the heating elements to ensure maximum efficiency.
Install Galvanized Panel
Re-install the galvanized front panel.
Secure Element Connections
Secure element wiring harnesses to the element terminals with screw heads up and threads pointing down. Verify good tight connections
Connect Wires
Connect the sensor wires to the processor control board as shown in Figure 1.
NOTE: These sensor wires are polarity sensitive and MUST be positioned correctly to ensure proper operation of the system.
Install Covers
Install the electrical panel cover and painted front panel.
Verify Operation
Energize the system and ensure proper operation.
